Private Foraging Walks, Retreats & Gift Vouchers

A foraging walk planned around you, or a gift voucher for someone who’d love one.

Hands sharing a tin of homemade wild food bites wrapped in baking paper

Group dates are a great way to start. But sometimes you want the day to be yours: your pace, your questions, the people you choose to bring. A private walk gives you my full attention and a day planned around what you want to learn.

Tell me who it’s for and what you’d like to get out of it, and I’ll plan the rest: woodland or coast, the best season for it, and how long we spend.

Private walks

A foraging walk just for you, for two, or for your family or friends. We go at your pace, cover what you most want to learn, and you get every answer.

Why learn with me

I’m Bex Northman, a Member of the Association of Foragers. I teach foraging and herbal remedy making across Cumbria, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. I started foraging because I wanted better food for my family. Picked from the right places, wild plants haven’t been sprayed, and they give you a far wider range of plants and flavours than the same few crops that fill the supermarket shelves.

I’m not a medical herbalist, and I won’t pretend to be. What I teach is practical: the plants, the traditional methods, and the confidence to make it again at home.

On a private walk it’s just you and me, so everything I teach is shaped around what you want to know.

A session with Bex

“Bex holds a beautiful space around foraging, so much to be learned from her earthly wisdom in just one session with her.”

Foraging safety. Plant and mushroom identification on my walks is given in good faith, but you’re responsible for your own identification. Never eat a wild plant or mushroom unless you’re 100% certain what it is. If in doubt, leave it out.
