Spring Foraging Walk in Gilsland

March 8 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

3-hour guided foraging walk | Gilsland, Cumbria | £35 per person

We are delighted to announce that Bex Northman will be guest-leading this special spring event for Wild Roots Foraging (https://wildrootsforaging.co.uk/).

Join Bex for a 3-hour guided walk through the diverse landscapes of Gilsland, where you’ll gain the skills to forage safely, sustainably, and with confidence.

Spring is a vibrant time for the forager. As the landscape wakes up, Bex will guide you through woodlands, hedgerows, and riverbanks to discover the first fresh greens, shoots, and wild edibles of the year.

– Preparation and Cooking: Traditional methods for processing wild food, from cooking to preserving.
– Folklore and History: The stories and traditional medicinal uses behind the plants we find.
– Mushroom Basics: An introduction to safe fungi identification (season dependent).
