DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday 4 September 2026 Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm (2 hours)\, stick around after for a full day at the beach if you like Location: Wolsty Banks Nature Reserve\, nr Silloth\, Solway Coast\, Cumbria. [Car park: https://maps.app.goo.gl/R9rLqrXx3JCGzzwe9] Cost: £1 minimum per booking\, whatever the size of your family\, not per person. Pay what you’re able above that. \nOverview\nA morning exploring the free\, wild food that grows along our coastline\, at the beautiful Wolsty Banks Nature Reserve near Silloth. We’ll look at what’s growing along the shore and talk about what you can actually do with it\, then leave plenty of time to just play and explore together as a group. Bring lunch and anything you need to stay comfy\, and we can hang around on the beach for the rest of the day afterwards. \nWhat we’ll explore\n\nWhatever the coastline has to offer that morning: we’ll see what’s growing and explore it together as a group\, not a fixed checklist\nA relaxed\, kid-led pace with plenty of room to play and explore\nTime together as a home ed community\, in a beautiful spot\nOptional: stay on after the session for a full day at the beach\n\nWhat’s included\n\nBex’s guidance\, knowledge\, and passion for foraging on the day\nA wild-themed snack Bex will make for everyone\nA relaxed family session\, no pressure\, no rush\n\nPractical details\n\nBring lunch and anything you need to stay comfortable if you’re staying on for the day\nSturdy\, weather-appropriate footwear for the nature reserve (sandy beach)\nAdult supervision required throughout. All ages welcome\n\nCost & booking\nThere’s a small £1 minimum per booking\, whatever the size of your family\, not per person. Beyond that\, pay what feels right for you. \nWe’ve kept it deliberately low because Wild and Weeds is about bringing real value to the home ed community\, not about making money from a coastal morning. Some families can put more towards it\, some can’t right now\, and this keeps it as accessible as we can be.
